Brachiopods have two valves, as Bivalves, but thet are not related to Mollusks. These animals were plentiful in the primary and secondary eras. They almost disappeared at the same time as dinosaurs but some species survive nowadays. Theese samples come from the faluns of Doué-la-Fontaine and Montaigu, more recent than those of Touraine and dated from 11 to 12,5 million years (Serravallian stage).
