The unusual character of this valve of scallop is due to the incrustation of seven oysters on its internal side (the second to last from the right possesses its two valves). We also observe some calcareous tubes of worms (serpulas). The external side of this scallop is covered with a gangue of falun in the form of a resistant sandstone-like limestone. You can see the external side of another sample.
