Criteria of distinction :
These two species of jewelbox are notably different by the size and by the thickness of the shell (smaller on C. gryphoides, finer on C. gryphoides compared with a young C. philipii). The distinction with the species of the previous page concerns the inversion in the direction of the rolling-up for the hollow valves (samples at the top of the photo) and consequently also for the almost flat valves (samples at the bottom).
